AVIAN Taking A New "Path"
This fall we will release an EP featuring 3 brand new songs and a live acoustic version of The Fear, which was originally released on our first album. The 3 new songs will be featured on our next album, which is scheduled for release in early 2011. The acoustic version of The Fear is exclusive to the EP and will not be on the full length album.
The title of the EP is “The Path” and features the songs, The Path, When The Night’s Undone, S.S. (Instrumental), and The Fear (Live Acoustic). Run time is approximately 20 minutes.
The Path features our new singer, Brian Hollenbeck, who is taking over the vocal reigns from Lance King. Lance decided to leave the band so that he could focus on family and professional obligations. We wish him the best and thank him for his amazing job on our first two albums and all the live performances.
Brian by no means is a new comer to the band; he has been our bassist and backup vocalist for the past couple of years. Those of you who have seen us perform live, know full well what Brian is capable of and will surely agree that he will have no difficultly filling Lance’s shoes.
We will have The Path available for all of you to check out in a few weeks as well as a release date, in the meantime, you can take a listen to Brian’s vocals on a song he recorded with ECHOTERRA; Say, Try, Lie, Die. Visit www.myspace.com/ECHOTERRA to take a listen.
Additionally, we are thrilled that our long time artist, Mattias Noren, is back in business and he created the artwork for the EP as well as the artwork for our next full length album. Here is the cover for the EP; we will reveal the artwork for the album in the near future:

New Album Update / Upcoming Show With HAMMERFALL
Hi Everyone, Yan Leviathan here with an update to what we are up to:
AVIAN is currently in pre-production on our upcoming album which will be released late 2010 / early 2011.
The new material is heading toward a heavier and faster feel than the previous two albums. There will be a few of the trade mark riff-heavy songs reminiscent of From The Depths of Time and Ashes And Madness, in addition to the heavier and faster songs (yes, I know that every band says that but what else are we going to say, that the new songs are slower and melower? They're not, so please forgive the cliche ;-)).
We will keep you all updated throughout the recording process and will announce all the details along the way; we are very excited about our third album and can't wait for all of our wonderful fans to check it out.
On Thursday March 18, 2010, we will be performing with metal legends HAMMERFALL at the Station 4 in St. Paul, Minnesota. This is a treat for me as HAMMERFALL have been a huge influence on me; I am looking forward with much anticipation to sharing the stage with this amazing band.

To All Of Our Friends And Fans: We Need Your Help!
Times are tough on everyone right now and it is getting very difficult for bands like us to stay together. AVIAN is an independent band which means that we have to pay for everything from production to manufacturing to promotion.
As some of you know, we have recently released our second cd, Ashes And Madness. The cd is receiving very high reviews and we have received some very lucrative tour offers. However, we do not have the financial means to accept these offers and that is EXTREMELY frustrating to all of us.
We realize that spending money to purchase a cd is getting more and more difficult these days but we are asking you to PLEASE go out and purchase our cd; we have added a bunch of new songs and reviews to our myspace profile so you can get an idea of what the music is about before you purchase it. Additionally, sites such as Amazon and Best Buy, have 30 second clips of all of the songs.
You may not realize this but if you purchase our cds it will enable us to get on the road and come to your hometown in the near future and it will also allow us to continue to make true metal music.
We would love nothing more than to keep AVIAN going strong but unless we can generate some cd sales we will have to call it quits. Thank you all.
AVIAN's latest cd, Ashes And Madness is now available at Amazon,
Nightmare Records, Best Buy and at iTunes.

Avian to co-headline Nightmare Metal Fest / New song posted
I am happy to announce that Avian will co-headline the brand new Nightmare Metal Fest which will be held in Tampa, Florida on Friday March 21st and Saturday March 22nd. The fest will feature such great bands as Cage, Warmachine, and Pownd.
Our set will be on Saturday night the 22nd (exact time TBA) and will feature songs from our forthcoming new cd; Ashes And Madness. We are also planning a very special surprise or two during the set, so it should be a very entertaining night of metal for all!
The lineup for the show will feature Lance King on vocals, Bill Hudson on lead guitar (Cellador), Mika Horiuchi on bass (Cellador), Jerry B on drums, and myself on rhythm guitar. I am looking forward with great anticipation to finally sharing the stage with the young guitar wiz, Bill Hudson. Bill and I worked on his guitar parts in my home studio a few weeks ago and we talked about how cool it would be to play these songs live together. I am very excited about finally being able to do so.
We've added a brand new song, Beyond The Hallowed Gates, to our myspace page www.myspace.com/avianband so check it out and let us know what you think.

Bill Hudson (Cellador) Records guitar solos
Well, all of the guitars are pretty much done, Bill Hudson did a phenomenal job with the solos; can't wait for you all to hear'em. I took all of the tracks over to Lance's today and now he can begin to do his parts. We are on schedule for a mid-December finish at which point we'll go to work on finding the best possible label home.
Here's the recording lineup as it will appear on the CD:
Lance King - Vocals, Keys
Yan Leviathan - Guitars, Bass
Jerry B - Drums
Bill Hudson - All Guitar Solos
To those of you that are unaware; David Ellefson will not appear on this CD. I very much wanted him to return but unfortunately (for me) he wanted to concentrate on his other projects. All of us in Avian want to thank him for everything he's done to help Avian get on the map so to speak. We all wish him and his family nothing but the best!

Avian Studio Update
It is all Hallows Eve as I sit in my dungeon recording the guitars. Above ground, the trick or treaters are surely egging and toilet papering my house because I am not answering the door to give away candy; I have 3 songs I have to get done by Monday so that when Bill Hudson arrives to do his solos, he won’t be doing them to only a click track ;-).
The songs are coming together very nicely, we are setting down a very solid foundation which I feel will make Ashes And Madness a great cd. Lance will begin vocals next week and we hope to have everything mixed and ready to go by mid-December. Once we have some stuff ready, we’ll post some clips for you all to check out.
Hope you all had a great Halloween and got lots of good candies!
